‘Text-to-give’ to Support Merchants Affected by Farmers Market Fire
Through the support of United Way KW and Libro Financial Group WCS, is collecting funds to help raise money for the 60 plus merchants who lost their businesses to the tragic fire at the St. Jacobs Farmers Market on Monday September 2, 2013.
Text “UCARE” to 45678 to give $5.00 to support the Vendors at the St. Jacobs Market. Funds raised from September 4, 2013 to September 30, 2013 will be used to help the merchants who have lost their businesses to the fire.
Supporters can text up to 6 times per month and the amount will be added to their mobile phone bill.
Lunch Crunch Program is Back
With children back to school we have resumed our weekly Lunch Crunch Program. The program takes place Monday mornings from 11:00am-12:00pm on a walk in basis.
The Lunch Crunch program provides nutritional fresh fruits and vegetables, grains and a meat alternative.

Accessible Recreation Activities

The
Woolwich Memorial Centre will be working with Woolwich Community
Services to provide individuals with limited income access to
recreational programs free of charge.
Individuals who qualify for the program will gain access to one recreational program per week and will be supplied with a 10 visit pass. Activities range from fitness classes to swimming.
WCS follows the statistics Canada low-income cut-off chart.In order to register individuals can call or stop by WCS.

Annual Backpack Program
Thank you to everyone who donated to our annual Backpack Program. The program took place over three days from Wednesday August 28 to Friday August 30. In total over 160 children with given backpacks and school supplies.
